But not upon Tiber
Nay

Scarred and tainted
Through the ages
Buried and defaced

Evros
Mighty and rich
Brought upon this land
Life and death
Prosperity, demise

Reaching to the heavens
With furious grace
Yet obscured
By the profound

But Thrace preserved its legacy
Among the pristine
On granite monuments
It persevered

Carried through the centuries
In credence and wrath
Pillaged
Massacred
Still
It remains...

A hope that gllimmers through the night
The future seems so bright
The genesis of ancient light
And cultures out of sight

Fiests of wine bestowed in gold
Treasures and temples
Drowned in the earth

Barbars of noble appeal
Silenced by conquerors
They shall be forgot

The East spans its veil
Of Darius the Great
And emperors alike
Prosperity and damnation
Under the guise of divinity

The hope that glimmered through the night
Will once more shine as bright
With cultures bathing in the light
And turmoil never out of sight

... From the ashes arose the Odrysae
To ascend
And be silenced
As with many others...
